Delete your account

Last updated: July 9, 2026

You can permanently delete your InfoAfterMe account at any time from within the mobile app. This page explains how to do it, what data is removed, and what you should know before you proceed. Account deletion cannot be undone.

Before you delete

  • This action is permanent. Deleted accounts, contacts, assets, and vault data cannot be recovered.
  • Export anything you need first. We do not provide a data export after deletion begins.
  • Cancel subscriptions separately. If you have an active recurring plan, cancel it in Google Play or the App Store. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel store billing.
  • Unlock your vault. You must enter your 4-digit app PIN to confirm deletion. If you forgot it, use your recovery phrase in the app before deleting.

How to delete your account (in the app)

  1. Open InfoAfterMe and sign in with your email and login PIN.
  2. Unlock your vault with your 4-digit app PIN when prompted.
  3. Go to the Security tab in the bottom navigation.
  4. Scroll to the Delete account section.
  5. Tap Delete account, read the confirmation message, and tap Continue.
  6. Enter your app PIN again and tap Permanently delete account.

You will be signed out immediately. Your account and associated server data are removed as part of this process.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove from our servers:

  • Your account profile (email, name, and optional profile fields).
  • All encrypted contacts stored under your account.
  • All encrypted vault items (assets) and descriptions.
  • Contact-to-asset linking rules and related share configuration.
  • Encryption keys and PIN verification material stored for your account.
  • Push notification tokens and in-app plan assignment on our servers.
  • Pending sign-in codes (OTPs) associated with your email.

What may remain

  • App store purchase history — Google Play and Apple maintain their own billing records. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account settings.
  • Information already shared with contacts — if you previously notified a contact and they accessed shared items, copies decrypted on their device are outside your account and are not deleted by this action.
  • Short-term backups and logs — encrypted backups and security logs may be retained for a limited period for disaster recovery, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, then deleted on schedule.
  • Data on your device — local app data may remain until you uninstall the app or clear app storage. Deletion removes server-side data and signs you out.

If you cannot access the app

Account deletion requires your app PIN and must be completed inside the app while your vault is unlocked. If you lost access and cannot recover with your recovery phrase, contact us at support@infoafterme.com from the email address registered to your account. We may ask you to verify ownership before assisting.

We cannot decrypt your vault contents for you — by design, only your app PIN can unlock your encrypted data.
